Welcome to My Blog!

"I want adventure in the great wide somewhere. I want it more than I can tell."

Like probably quite a few people during this pandemic, I have gone back and forth about creating a blog as a creative outlet. I've knitted, crafted, decorated, baked (although not as much as I wanted since I had no one else to eat my creations!), and planned imaginary trips I can't take. After 7 months of this, I've decided I'll finally do the blogging thing. This blog will feature all kinds of things I'm doing and enjoying, from books to baked goods, to traveling. Here you can follow along with my meandering interests and my super random mind!

My Costume for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

After way too much back and forth (picking a blog name is incredibly difficult!), I have decided to name my blog "Imaginings with Figment" inspired by one of my favorite rides and characters. Figment and his creator Dreamfinder espouse the importance of imagination and how "one little spark" of imagination can make so many things possible. As someone who dreamed of working in a unique field and spent much of her childhood with her head in the clouds, imagining all of the things I would love to do and places I wanted to go, I have always loved Figment and Dreamfinder. Because this blog will include all of the things I love to do, my creative ideas and imaginings, Imaginings with Figment seemed like the perfect name!

I am a self-taught baker, and I love making delicious desserts and bread as well as fun and unique savory dishes. I'll include my escapades into new dishes as well as the recipes that I love and those that don't here too. I have never ventured into creating my own baked recipes, but maybe that will happen in the future as well!

The blog will of course include my travels and travel planning once traveling safely is more of an option. I love to travel anywhere and everywhere I can, nationally and internationally. As a museum professional, I also visit a lot of museums for work and for fun. I am also one of those Disney adults that many people complain about and I don't apologize in the slightest! Disney travel and my ideas for the parks will likely be included.

If any or all of this sounds interesting to you, follow along with my journey through life and exploring my new city! Thanks for joining!
